New Providence residents will cast ballots at one of three locations on Tuesday, Nov. 3, depending on their voting district.
Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., according to New Providence Borough's elections page. The borough's 12 voting districts are divided among the Municipal Center, the DeCorso Community Center and the Floral Avenue firehouse.
The Union County Board of Elections' 2026 polling place list, approved March 13, assigns the locations as follows:
New Providence Municipal Center, 360 Elkwood Ave. (all-purpose room, accessible from Academy Street): Districts 1, 2, 6 and 7.
DeCorso Community Center, 15 E. Fourth St.: Districts 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12.
Firehouse, 175 Floral Ave.: Districts 8, 10 and 11.
Not sure which district? Check the sample ballot mailed to registered voters or search the state's polling-place lookup at Vote.NJ.Gov. New Providence Borough also posts a voting district map on its website.
Patch first reported the district-by-district breakdown on Oct. 25, compiling the assignments from the county's approved polling list.
Election Day vs. early voting
These three Election Day sites differ from the borough's early-voting setup. The DeCorso Community Center at 15 E. Fourth St. is the only New Providence location for early voting, which runs through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to a Union County Board of Elections press release. Early-voting hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Any registered Union County voter may use any of the county's 10 early-voting sites. Those locations handle in-person machine voting only.
Mail-in ballots
Voters with mail-in ballots cannot submit them at early-voting locations, the county said. Instead, they should use a secure ballot drop box. At least one drop box is available in every Union County municipality, and boxes remain accessible through 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Mail-in ballots can be requested from the Union County Clerk's Office until 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2. Voters who want to deposit a completed ballot in person at the Board of Elections office at 271 N. Broad St. in Elizabeth, or at either Union County Clerk's office, must present a valid New Jersey-issued ID or driver's license.
For questions about registration or polling locations, residents can call the Union County Board of Elections at 908-527-4123.
