Broadway performers Kara Lindsay and Kevin Massey will bring a 70-minute concert to downtown Summit on Sunday, Oct. 18. The married couple takes the stage at Broadway & Central Church, 70 Maple Street, at 4 p.m.

Tickets cost $25 per person or $20 for seniors 65 and older and students. A limited-ticket "Meet the Artists" reception follows the show for an additional $50, including refreshments and photos with the performers. The concert is sponsored by the Central Community Foundation.

Lindsay's Broadway résumé

Lindsay is best known for originating the role of Katherine Plumber in Disney's Newsies on Broadway. She reprised the role in the 2017 Newsies film. Her credits also include Glinda in Wicked, Cynthia Weil in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and a role in Once Upon a Mattress, according to Playbill.

Lindsay has deep New Jersey ties. She is set to star as Mary Poppins at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, with previews beginning Nov. 18 and an official opening Nov. 22. That production runs through Jan. 3, 2027.

Paper Mill Producing Artistic Director Mark S. Hoebee praised Lindsay's history with the theater in a Sept. 22 Playbill announcement, saying she "has a long history with us, performing in numerous Paper Mill Playhouse productions including our world premiere of Newsies."

Massey has appeared in five Broadway productions. He starred as Monty Navarro in the first national tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and has credits in Memphis, Tarzan, Wicked and Big River, according to his website. He also performed at Paper Mill Playhouse in Little House on the Prairie as Almanzo Wilder.

Dr. Charity Wicks, music director at Broadway & Central Church, will accompany the couple with an ensemble of musicians.
