The Madison Police Department is asking Summit-area residents to help locate a missing 49-year-old man who was last known to be in neighboring Madison on Monday, Aug. 3.
Cavan Londergan has not been seen or heard from since that day, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.
Madison police issued the initial missing person alert on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at approximately 6:30 p.m. About 30 minutes later, the department posted a follow-up with an additional image showing the clothing Londergan was last seen wearing. Both posts from the Borough of Madison's official account on X asked residents to share the alerts widely.
Londergan is described as 5-foot-10 with a slim build, gray hair and blue eyes, according to Daily Voice, which cited local police. He was last seen wearing a green T-shirt and khaki pants.
Daily Voice also reported that a multi-agency search was underway and that Londergan worked as an educator in the area with ties to Parsippany. The Madison Police Department has not publicly confirmed those details.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 5, no update confirming Londergan has been found has been posted by Madison police. The case remains active.
The department's alerts did not describe the circumstances of Londergan's disappearance or specify where in Madison he was last seen.
