Zachary Snyder won all six of his individual events, and the Madison YMCA Mariners' 13-and-under swim team broke five team records on the way to a second-place overall finish at the YMCA Long Course Championships.

The result, reported by the Madison Area YMCA on Sunday, July 26, capped a championship weekend that included multiple gold medals and at least two events where Mariners swimmers took both first and second place.

Snyder, competing in the boys 9-10 age group, swept all six individual races without a loss. He also set a new team record in the 200-meter freestyle, capping what the YMCA called "a perfect weekend in the pool."

Peter Liu matched that record-breaking pace in the 11-12 boys division, setting new team marks in both the 200-meter Individual Medley and the 400-meter Individual Medley.

The 9-10 girls relay quartet of Beatrice Wade, Ayla Faber, Cecilia Uhler, and Cora Walsh added two more records to the haul, establishing new team bests in both the freestyle relay and the medley relay.

Five records total: three individual, two relay.

The championship weekend featured numerous standout performances beyond the record-breakers, with the Mariners collecting enough points across events to secure the second-place team finish among all participating YMCA squads. The meet is a regional-level long course competition held in 50-meter pools, a format that tests endurance and technique differently than the short course season's 25-yard races.

The Mariners train at the Walker D. Kirby Aquatics Center in Madison. The YMCA Long Course National Championship, a separate and higher-level event, is currently underway through Saturday, August 1, in Ocala, Florida.
