Looking for something different to do this weekend? About a 30-minute drive from Summit, the Morris County 4-H Fair returns Friday, July 24, through Sunday, July 26, with everything from farm animals and tractor rides to live music, food trucks and youth competitions — and admission is free.

Held at High View Farms in Mount Olive, the annual fair offers a chance to meet local 4-H members and see projects they've spent the past year creating, from robotics and photography to gardening, livestock and animal science. More than 240 Morris County students from 25 clubs will showcase their work throughout the weekend.

Families can also expect hayrides, monster truck rides, artisan vendors, a petting zoo, and plenty of food. Sunday features a classic car show hosted by the Dog Pound Cruisers.

The fair officially opens with a Parade of 4-H Clubs and ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5 p.m. Friday. Earlier this summer, several young 4-H members even brought rabbits, chickens and guinea pigs to the Morris County Commissioners to personally invite them to the event.

This year's theme is "Color the World with 4-H," and visitors are encouraged to wear bright colors.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at High View Farms, 416 Sand Shore Road in Mount Olive.
