New Providence senior goalkeeper Anthony Wycko enters the 2026 fall soccer season as one of New Jersey's top returning Group 1 players after earning Second Team All-Group 1 honors, according to NJ.com's preseason list published Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Wycko is the only Group 1 goalkeeper on the second team, making him the top returning keeper behind First Team selection Collin Feeley of Haddon Township. This is his final season.
The recognition caps a strong 2025 for the Pioneers, who finished 13-6 overall and 5-1 in the Union County Conference. New Providence earned the third seed in the NJSIAA North 2, Group 1 bracket and beat Ridgefield 3-0 in the opening round. Whippany Park ended the run in the quarterfinals.
Summit senior defender Teddy Mixon also made the statewide list, landing on the All-Group 3 First Team.
The Pioneers, coached by Chris Calveley according to NJ.com's team page, open the 2026 season Monday, Aug. 24, hosting Woodbridge. The early schedule features a home date against Governor Livingston on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and a Summit visit on Tuesday, Oct. 6. New Providence also hosts Whippany Park on Thursday, Oct. 22, a rematch of the team that ended their 2025 state tournament run.
