Opera at Florham opens its 2026-2027 season Sunday, July 19, with a concert celebrating America's 250th anniversary at The Mansion at Fairleigh Dickinson University, 285 Madison Ave., Madison.

The performance runs from 2 to 4 p.m. inside Lenfell Hall, the former ballroom of the 125-year-old Vanderbilt-Twombly estate. The hall seats about 240 people.

The program features repertoire honoring great American opera singers, according to the organization's event page. Specific performers and program details have not been announced.

Tickets and access

General admission costs $35. Students 25 and under pay $10. FDU students get in free, as do children 14 and under.

Free parking is available in Campus Lot #8, with a free shuttle running to The Mansion. The Convent Station NJ Transit stop is a few blocks from the venue, making it reachable by rail for Midtown Direct commuters from Summit and surrounding towns.

About the organization

Opera at Florham was co-founded in 1982 by Violetta DuPont at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The organization became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1995 but remains affiliated with FDU. Joan Del Giudice serves as president.

A season sponsorship covering all seven concerts costs $180. The next performance after Sunday's opener is Sept. 13 at FDU.
