Six Summit streets will close in stages starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, as PSE&G begins milling operations ahead of repaving work in several residential neighborhoods.
Crews will work from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, according to a schedule the city posted on Friday, Sept. 4. Roads will be fully closed during milling. Police officers will be on site to direct traffic, and detours will be posted.
The city said residents on affected streets should obey all emergency "No Parking" signs.
Street-by-street schedule
Tuesday, Sept. 8: Oak Ridge Avenue from Magnolia Place to Greenbriar Drive (eastern end).
Wednesday, Sept. 9: Oak Ridge Avenue from Greenbriar Drive (eastern end) to Rotary Drive. Greenbriar Drive from Oak Ridge Avenue to Oak Ridge Avenue (start).
Thursday, Sept. 10: Greenbriar Drive from Oak Ridge Avenue to Oak Ridge Avenue (finish).
Friday, Sept. 11: Cleveland Road/Windsor Road from Ashland Road to Colt Road. Windsor Road from Cleveland Road to end (start). Ashland Road from Silver Lake Drive to Linda Lane (start).
Monday, Sept. 14: Ashland Road from Silver Lake Drive to Linda Lane (finish). Mountain Avenue from Ashland Road to Magnolia Place (start).
No work is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, or Sunday, Sept. 13.

The city described the schedule as tentative. All dates are weather permitting and subject to change.
Paving will follow the milling work. The city said it will release the paving schedule once it is finalized.

The Mountain Avenue entry for Sept. 14 is labeled "start," and no additional days are listed for that street. It is unclear whether milling on Mountain Avenue will continue past Sept. 14.
