Summit's annual Fiesta Latina is back on the Village Green on Friday, Sept. 18, with live music, dance performances, Latin food trucks and cultural demonstrations.
The city's Department of Community Programs is organizing the event at 356 Broad Street, with a 6:30 p.m. start time, according to the city's event calendar. The event celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from Tuesday, Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.
Fiesta Latina has been a fixture on Summit's fall calendar for years. A 2022 Patch listing shows the event drew crowds to the Village Green that September, running from 6 to 9 p.m. on a Friday evening with Latin food trucks and live performances.
The 2025 edition, held Sept. 19, featured a flamenco dance demonstration by Flamenco Flavor at 6:10 p.m. and a concert by Latin band De Tierra Caliente from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the main stage, according to the Department of Community Programs' Instagram page. That event was free and open to all members of the public.
The city has not yet announced specific performers, food truck vendors or a detailed schedule for the 2026 celebration. The calendar listing notes that more information is "coming soon." Whether the event will again be free has not been confirmed for 2026.
