Summit’s summer concert series hit a weather delay. The city postponed Monday’s Hot Summer Nights performance by the Twilight Disciples after a rough stretch of storms, pushing the show to late August.

The band will now take the Village Green stage Monday, Aug. 24, after city officials canceled the July 6 concert because of the forecast.

The weather disruption follows a stormy Fourth of July weekend that forced Summit to cancel its fireworks celebration after severe weather knocked down trees and power lines across parts of Union County.

Concert schedule update

The Hot Summer Nights series continues with free outdoor shows at the Village Green, 356 Broad St. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. Residents should bring blankets and chairs. Food trucks will be available.
