After severe storms knocked out power, canceled fireworks and reshuffled the summer schedule, Summit’s outdoor events calendar is getting back in motion with three community favorites packed into four days.

Residents can catch movies, live music and a chance to connect with local organizations from Thursday, July 9, through Monday, July 13.
Screen on the Green — Thursday, July 9
The Village Green turns into an outdoor theater Thursday night with a pre-movie dance party at 7:15 p.m., followed by a film screening at dark.

- What to bring: Blankets and chairs
- Extras: Food truck on site
- Cost: Free
The city’s Screen on the Green series continues every other Thursday through July and August.
Summit Street Sounds — Thursday and Friday
Downtown Summit becomes a live music stage as Summit Downtown, Inc. brings performers to streets and gathering spots from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
Thursday’s lineup includes:
- Future Hero — The Promenade, 426 Springfield Ave.
- All These Things — Lyric Park
- Matt Mattheiss — Starbucks area at Union Place and Beechwood Road
- Firepit — Horse Trough, 7 Union Place
- Stephanie Eller — Maple Street near Fiorino’s
Friday’s lineup includes:
- Summit Chorale — The Promenade
- Gypsea Soul — Lyric Park
- The DW Brothers — Starbucks area
- Kickstart Band — Horse Trough
- Lissette Green — Union Place near Jamie’s Shoe Repair
The series features more than 50 musicians throughout the summer and runs through July 31.
Community Night returns Monday
Summit’s annual Community Night brings local nonprofits to the Village Green before Element K takes the stage as part of the Hot Summer Nights concert series.

- Nonprofit tables open: 5 p.m.
- Event begins: 6:30 p.m.
- Concert starts: 7 p.m.
The event gives residents a chance to meet community groups while enjoying a free summer concert.
