The biggest game in soccer is coming to the big screen in Union County. Fans who couldn’t snag a seat at MetLife Stadium can still join the World Cup excitement when the county hosts a free outdoor watch party for the tournament final.
The FIFA World Cup Final will be shown Sunday, July 19, at Oak Ridge Park in Clark from 2 to 6 p.m. The championship match kicks off at 3 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, just a short trip from Summit.
The finalists are still unknown, but the stakes are already high as the tournament heads into its final rounds. Quarterfinal matches run July 9-11, followed by semifinals on July 14 and 15.
The Union County Board of Commissioners’ watch party will include:
- A giant outdoor viewing screen
- Food trucks
- A beer garden for fans 21 and older with valid ID
- Kids’ games and inflatables
- Plenty of room for lawn chairs and blankets
“With the championship match being played right here in New Jersey, this is a chance for residents to experience the excitement together,” county officials said.
The 2026 World Cup is the first tournament hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico and features a record 48 teams. For local fans who missed out on tickets to MetLife Stadium, Oak Ridge Park offers a front-row seat to the action without leaving Union County.
Oak Ridge Park is located at 136 Oak Ridge Road in Clark. The county has not yet announced parking details or a rain plan.
