Union County residents can earn $300 by staffing the polls for the Tuesday, Nov. 3 general election.

The Union County Board of Elections is recruiting poll workers across the county, according to a notice posted on the New Providence municipal website. Bilingual residents and registered Republicans are "especially needed," a county press release stated.

The shift runs from 5:15 a.m. until at least 8:15 p.m. No previous experience is required, but all new poll workers must attend a mandatory in-person training session before Election Day.

Any Union County resident 16 or older may apply. Applicants 18 and older must be registered to vote. Residents who are 16 or 17 may work an eight-hour shift rather than the full day.

The New Jersey Division of Elections also lists pay of $21.43 per hour for in-person early voting days, which run from Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 1 in Union County.
